Maryland DNR proposing changes to public hunting areas-Eastern Shore

I just saw a notice in the Talbot Guide that the MD DNR is asking for input on possible changes to 7,812 acres of forests located on MD’s lower Eastern Shore.  There are actually 67,000 acres owned by DNR throughout the six lower counties of the Eastern Shore.

According to the notice, the DNR is looking at making changes in the layout of these areas to better accommodate public hunting areas and leased areas.  Apparently, an internal review has already been completed by several state agencies.  Now they are looking for public input.  Public comments will only be accepted until 8/11/2012.  You can review the proposal and provide input at

Have a good season!
